Sterling Payment Technologies has offered a caution to all of their merchants regarding recent phone scams.
Recently, a number of Sterling merchants have had deceptive and aggressive individuals calling them and claiming to represent Sterling or represent a company that is taking over Sterling's merchant services accounts. These individuals have requested sensitive financial information from our merchants and have called repeatedly trying to get it.
If you receive one of these calls or faxes, you should ask for the individual's phone number and contact Sterling Merchant Services immediately at the phone number provided on your merchant statement: 800-383-0561.
It's important to know that Sterling will never contact you like this.
